How Rankings Are Calculated & Listing Policy
This site automatically aggregates public data about restaurants in the Obihiro/Tokachi area. Below we disclose how rankings and listings are calculated, where the data comes from, and how advertising is handled.
Data Source
Every rating, review count, business-hours status, and review excerpt shown here is sourced from publicly available Google Maps data (via the Google Places API). We do not conduct our own reporting, dining visits, or scoring - these are not our own editorial ratings.
Ranking Order
Genre and area rankings are calculated mechanically from Google Maps ratings (★) and review counts. When ratings are close, review count is weighted more heavily. Ordering is determined solely by objective, data-based criteria - there is no manual manipulation.
About "Hall of Fame" Badges
Shops with an exceptionally high review count (roughly 1,000+) or that are widely known local institutions are separately marked "★ Hall of Fame," even when they don't rank near the top by rating alone. This surfaces local reputation and track record that a pure rating-based ranking can obscure.
About AI Review Summaries
The "🤖 AI Review Summary" shown for each shop is automatically generated by AI from public Google Maps reviews. It reflects actual reviewers' comments, not our own opinions, and never adds content not present in the reviews.
Advertising
We plan to offer advertising placements on this site in the future. Whether, where, or how much a business advertises never affects ranking order or listing position. Rankings always reflect the raw data-driven calculation.
Data Updates
Listed data is collected and updated on a regular schedule. Each page shows its data-collection date; please also check each shop's official information or Google Maps directly for the most current details. The open/closed status shown on area pages reflects the time the data was collected.
Corrections & Removal Requests
